Painting of St Agnes Coastline - Chapel Porth
Above Chapel Porth

Description

It’s late summer and high above the crowd on Chapel Porth purple heather and golden gorse zing with birds and bees. The emblematic Wheal Coates engine house reminds its visitors of a different time when this vista was anything but serene during its industrial period. The criss crossed mining waste land is now a much loved jaunt for locals and tourists alike. It has that wild and ancient feel that helps make Cornwall a special place in peoples hearts. Chapel Porth is a beautiful and very popular sandy cove with limited car parking. If you’re not planning on carrying too much then park in one of the National Trusts’s car parks near to The Beacon. You can then enjoy a beautiful walk there and take in this stunning stretch of the heritage coastline. If by chance you happen to come across me painting there, come and say hello!
