The painting Temple to the Elements by Chris Peacock
Temple to the Elements

Description

One of my favourite places in the world. The Coastline of the Penwith peninsula. In this case it’s a view from somewhere near the Diamond Horse across Mill Bay towards Nanjizel Cove. The wild and ancient coastline here is extraordinarily beautiful. Even the place names conjure up another world. On a good day such as this was, it fills your senses to the brim. The magnificent granite stacks, calm turquoise waters, the distant Nanjizel Cove and the deeply cut Bositow cliff make a sublime combination. The walk from Porthgwarra to Lands End and back is a bit strenuous on the lower coastal path but also one of the finest you could wish for. I’m hoping to exhibit this painting in the upcoming Spring Exhibition of St Pirans Artists but it will need to sit for while.
