Description
While visiting the surprisingly beautiful region of Northern Spain this year we explored the national park in Cabuérniga. It is a stunning place with spectacular rivers, mountains, forests and picturesque villages. During a walk in one of the woodlands near Cabuérniga itself, I came across this lovely stone barn set peacefully in a clearing. It was typical of the numerous small traditionally farmed meadows in the region that are still farmed using traditional methods. The meadow and the disused track leading up to the barn was a mass of long grasses and wild flowers. I hope to revisit this painting and upscale it to a canvas possibly at some stage but I I will leave it undisturbed for now.
