Description
This is a version of “Close To The Edge”, a painting completed in 2021 of Gwithian viewed from the headland of Godrevy over Mutton Cove on the north coast of Cornwall. It started out as a paint sketch to explore something new for me, using abstract form. Even this relatively simple form proved trickier than expected and involved a lot of retracing brush marks. In the end I was happy with this result and I think it holds up as a finished piece rather than a preliminary sketch. But what do you think?
