Description

A day during March of this year at the beginning of an exceptionally sunny spell of weather in early March. The sun is still low when traversing across the sky and produces very a bright warm light with little haze. Porthleven has changed over the years. Not in looks perhaps but certainly in its character. The harbour bustles with people that are mostly strangers to one another around the many eateries and touristic shops. The harbour water is comparatively quiet and there is hardly a whiff of fishing nets nowadays. Still, it’s a pleasant place to stroll amongst the crowds and take in the distinctive views of this Cornish harbour. Perhaps whilst savouring a glass of ale at the water’s edge while listening to the band or male voice choir lamenting times of tin and fish.
