The Painting - Springs Promise at Wally Brook Bridge
Springs Pomise at Brook Bridge

Details – Acrylics on 12 x 16 inch Multimedia Artboard

Description

This the 2nd painting of early Spring in the Dartmoor National Park. There was an exceptionally sunny spell of weather in early March. The buzz and flutter of excited little creatures streamed past as we walked. Immaculate foliage was unfolding on the trees and the gorse was bursting with gold. Spring’s promise was being vividly broadcast across the beautiful landscape of Dartmoor. We came across two lovely clapper bridges; Teign-e-ver and Wally Brook. These gave access to and from an island formed by the river dividing that part of the moor. There was the exquisite single slab of granite of Wally Brook bridge. Beside it, like a sentinel was a small twisted tree, resolutely budding its fresh cloak of life. The babbling river Teign and the backdrop of the wild open moor completed an irresistible image to paint. One I shall paint more than once I think.
