Description

This a view across the lovely sandy cove of Porth Joke, or more commonly known as Polly Joke on the north coast of Cornwall. When I first came across this cove many years ago, there were cows rather than people munching on the beach which was a surreal but oddly scenic sight. The headland and the common that adjoins the cove are owned and managed by the National Trust Each year the trust sows the headland in wild flowers to benefit wildlife. In early summer the flowers attract huge numbers of pollen loving insects and consequently birds to the headland. It also attracts thousands of people who come to enjoy the red sea above the splendid setting of Polly Joke.
