This painting’s location will be instantly recognisable to many people as Holywell Bay recognisable from scenes in many a film or TV production (yes, including Poldark) or as a favourite holiday destination. Although on the day depicted in March of this year, there were very few people to be seen other than a lucky couple who had the beach to themselves, immersed in their surroundings, paddling along the shoreline. It was a chilly day though but very still and beautifully bright which gave up a lovely clear and serene vista of the sea and landscape.
