I was returning from a great day on the Roseland peninsula when the sun was setting in spectacular fashion over Trelissick on the opposite bank. The thin bank of cloud diffused the gold sunlight across the sky and the river shimmered around a sword of white reflected light that stretched towards us. And in this setting the King Harry Ferry hauled its way towards us. The odd yet familiar shape strangely reminiscent of some ancient war horse, its booming and clanking punctuating the tranquility of the evening. It was a lovely atmospheric scene and I hope I’ve given you a glimpse of it
